Titoki Team 1 - Term 3 week 6 ending 1 September

Welcome to our new children

We wish a very big welcome to these children who have joined us this term in Titoki Iti.

Emily Du, Tilly Moore, Mila Pereira, Matthew Boddy, Veer Devnani, Jesse Heads and Jackson Pipe.

Production Helpers – WE NEED YOU!
Our school production is rapidly approaching. We would really appreciate any help with costumes and props! If you are crafty in any way and can sew, cut, glue etc we need you! Please come in to see any of us if you think you can help out in any way.

Willo Walk
The Willo Fund has been set up by one of Bayfield’s grandfathers, Willo Stear who is embarking on an epic hike, The Eden To Addo Trail, in South Africa beginning on September 1st. This challenging walk is a twenty day guided trail traversing seven mountain ranges, six national parks and nature reserves and five biomes through the East Cape of South Africa’s wildest and most beautiful landscapes. It is likely Willo and the other hikers will encounter five (‘of the Big 7) animals including buffalo, rhino and elephants. See http://edentoaddo.co.za/maps
As part of this walk Willo is seeking sponsorship to establish a fund for special needs students at Bayfield School. Willo’s wish is that the educational fund we are establishing at Bayfield will be used specifically for special needs children who are not receiving government funding (or only partial funding), and whose parents are not in a financial position to provide the focussed and individualised support they require in order for such children to benefit from a main stream school environment. The Board of Trustees encourage the Bayfield community to support the fund and help it grow. Donations can be made via the school bank account with ‘Willo Fund’ as the reference.

Did you leave a pair of Sunglasses in Titoki?

We have a very nice pair of Stolen Girlfriend’s Club sunglasses that were left in the Titoki Space. We didn’t want to put these in the general lost property, so if you think these might be yours please come see us.

Titoki are on the hunt for some magazines to use for a special project. Thin magazines would be best for this project. If you have any at home, please bring them in!

Dance Students
We have thoroughly enjoyed having the University of Auckland dance students come to work with our children for the last couple of weeks. The children have worked beautifully in their groups collaborating and choreographing their dances. Their performances in the hall were filmed and you can view these on See-Saw.

Kind regards,
Ashleigh, Kate, Victoria and Lorraine
