Titoki Team 1 - Term 3 Week 10 ending 29 September 2017

Production Thank you:
Wow what a fabulous job our Titoki and Titoki Iti children did as our yellow characters in the school-wide Production this year. We are so proud of their performances. A huge thank you to everyone who helped out with production this year, from costume prep, learning lines and helping on the night. We couldn’t have done it without you all.

Class Trip – Week 1, Term 4
We are starting Term 4 off with a Class trip to TAPAC in Western Springs to watch the show Tom’s Marvellous Imagination. This will be on Thursday 19th October.
We will meeting in the Titoki space for the role before heading to the bus at 9.45 am. Children are to bring their brain break and a drink bottle in a named plastic bag.
We are also in need of Parent Help. If you would like to volunteer to help please email victoriac@bayfield.school.nz. This will be done on ‘first in, first served’. Thank you in advance.
Tom’s Marvellous Imagination is an interactive theatre production taking children and adults into a storybook world full of well-known characters. This will tie in well with our ‘Book Bonanza’ fortnight that we have for the first 2 weeks of the term.

Grandparent, Friends and Family Day
We have our annual Grandparent, Friends and Family Day on Friday 20th October. An invitation will be sent home inviting Grandparents or Special Friends along for a morning of fun. We will be showing off our great learning in Titoki and have guided reading books for donation if you would like to contribute to the schools reading resources.

Book Bonanza – Week 1 and 2, Term 4
The first two weeks of term we will have a focus on ‘Book Bonanza’. This includes our trip to TAPAC, Grandparent, Friends and Family Day, a focus on different authors and children’s’ books as well as our infamous Book Day Parade that will take place on the Friday 27th October. There will be more details about the parade closer to the time.

School Holiday Reading Competition
It is that time again! Over the school holidays we encourage the children to continue reading as much as possible. You will find in your child’s book bag this week the Holiday Reading Challenge sheet, where they write down the stories they have read over the holidays. Please return these completed with their name by Friday week 1 (20th Oct) for the chance to win a dip in the Lucky Treasure Box.
Hats
Sun hats are compulsory for all of Term 4. Please ensure these are kept in school bags every day as we have the rule of ‘No hat, no play’. Wide brimmed hats are best as they cover their neck and ears also.
If you wish for your child to wear sun screen, please apply this in the morning before they head to school and teach them how to apply it themselves if they are to put it on at school. Thank you.

Have a safe and (hopefully) sunny holiday!
Kind regards,
Victoria, Lorraine, Ashleigh and Kate
